This striking image of the infamous alternative performance artist John Sex (1956 -1990) was taken during “Club 57 Night” at the Mudd Club. During this Mudd Club event, regulars from Club 57 recreated a mix of the dress-up themes (like this spoof of the Playboy Clubs) that were the mainstay of Club 57.
