There are many reasons to be interested in art ephemera — a type of collectible that has the advantage of being small, easy to store, and modestly priced. Many collectors follow specific artists, while others like to accumulate vintage material connected to a particular art movement or art theme.
To help visitors explore the 8,696 items in Gallery 98’s inventory, we have grouped many of these items into thematic categories. The “Categories Spotlight” section of our Ephemera page includes a sampling of thirty-two of the most popular themes. This week’s Gallery 98 newsletter has a more limited focus. Highlighted below are items from six major art movements that helped define art in the 20th century.
