The radical conceptualist Piero Manzoni died at the age of 29 nearly a decade before this exhibition, the first full-scale retrospective of his work in the United States.  Manzoni is best known for creating small cans containing his feces. The photograph shows Manzoni with one of his inflatable sculptures containing “The Artist’s Breath.”
