In the 1980s the Brooklyn Academy of Music began commissioning top-tier contemporary visual artists to design limited-edition posters.  Their goal was to create a bridge between the avant-garde art world and the experimental performance artists who were part of their yearly Next Wave Festival.  This signed and numbered poster by Alex Katz is striking because of its large dimensions. For the last 40-years it has been protected by a frame, which may now need to be replaced.
